    The same mining company was employed by the U.S. Navy to mass produce metal and hard boiled hard hats.

  • Hoover Dam Project

    The hard hat was worn by workers on the Hoover dam.

  • Golden Gate Bridge

    All workers on the Golden Gate Bridge were required to wear hard hats.

  • Aluminium Hard Hats

    Hard hats began to be commercially sold which were made of aluminium.

    In the 1940's hard hats were made of fibreglass.

    Hard hats were started to be produced with thermoplastics because they are light, flourescent, can withstand lots of pressure and heat.
