  • Boycott of Jewish businesses begins

    Boycott of Jewish businesses begins
    A boycott on Jewish businesses and goods and services from Jewish people was issued by the Nazis. Germans followed it and stopped buying things from businesses owned by Jews. This is the 1st step in Hitlers plan to turn the Germans against the Jews.
  • Nuremburg Laws

    Nuremburg Laws
    Hitler issues the Nuremberg laws. Jews have their citizenship revoked. They are also not allowed to marry or have a sexual relationship with non-jews.
  • Presucution spreads to Austria

    Presucution spreads to Austria
    Germany and Austria have become allies. The Nazi anti-jewish philosophy has spread to Austria. Persecution of Jews spreads there as well.
  • Kristallnacht

    Kristallnacht
    The Nuremberg laws went from non-violent to extremely violent overnight. Jewish homes and businesses were broken into by smashing the windows & many synagogues were burned. The night became known as Kristallnacht because of all the broken glass.
  • Jewish Children Expelled

    Jewish children are expelled from all public schools in Germany.They were forced to transfer to Jewish private schools where they were often taught anti-Jewish policies. The education was ran by the government, so these children received a poor education.
  • Blitzkrieg

    Nazi use Blitzkrieg to take over many countries in Europe. This spreads their influence across the continent. Germany has also gained the allies that they would later fight alongside during WWII.

    Yellow Star laws introduced
    By this time, the Nazis occupied Poland. The Yellow Star laws were introduced here and eventually spread to many locations across Europe.

    By this time Nazi ideas spread across most of Europe. Some countries attempted to resist, but most of these attempts were unsuccessful.Jews and other "Non-Aryans" Across Europe were under persecution and often sent to concentration camps.

    The punishment for breaking almost all the Anti-sematic laws was being sent to a concentration camp. The most infamous of these was Auschwitz, which opened on this date. Approximately 1.1 million people died here.
