    In 1954, Elvis started a new genre that is known today as Rock n' Roll, having a mix of blues. Elvis was known for his smooth and soothing singing voice that gives people that feeling of the blues. There would be slow and smooth songs like 'Blue Christmas' made in 1948, and then there are songs like 'Blue Suede Shoes' that is fast and upbeat (1956)

    The Beatles
    The Beatles broke out with the song 'I want to hold your hand' staying at the Number 1 big hit through March 1964. When the Beatles started to perform, people from Britain started to invade America and other countries and continents, this was known as the British invasion because people loved the Beatles so much. The Beatles built the base of boy bands just like Elvis did but with Rock n' Roll. Beatles - Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, George Harrison.
  • Led Zeppelin

    As the years gone by Heavy Metal had a Gateway to pass on the genre, the band to start this new genre of Rock was, Led Zeppelin. John Bohnam "Bonzo," Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones. Robert Plant the lead guitarist wanted to start a band, soon he found out that this group he put together is known as one of the greatest Rock bands known to mankind. Before Led Zeppelin, each member had been in a band of there own. Some of the riffs in their songs come from their previous bands.

    The Canadian based band Rush was a different type of Rock band, using more technology and machinery. Rush had and still has a different style of Rock creating a groovy side of Rock, for example in the song 'Spirit Of The Radio' has a groovy beat and guitar riff. And to add on Geddy Lee´s high pitch voice adds volume and fills in the instrumental pefectly
  • AC/DC

    AC/DC
    AC/DC all started out in Australia. Their success got higher and higher as each album were being sold across the world. The first two albums they put out were only to be heard in Australia. They wanted their music to be upbeat and scruffy.

    Beastie Boys
    Beastie Boys put a twist on Rock n' Roll in the 90's by rapping. Using ordinary Rock instruments and used their rapping voices to get people curious of this twist they put in Rock.
  • Pearl Jam

    Pearl Jam
    Pearl Jam all started in Seattle. A group of young talented musicians and vocalist had their first album out in 1991 called ten. They started growing and growing across the country getting more and more famous as they put out more songs. The guitarist, Mike McCready's idol was Jimi Hendrix. The band wanted to have a 70's Metal Rock mixed with current punk Rock to put into their music, and yes, it sounds great.

    Greta Van Fleet is a new band with an old look and sound. They want to bring back old classic Rock. They are a really young band, the singer was performing in high school plays not too long ago. They all grew up together as friends and brothers being a regular old Punk garage band. Soon they decided to become something greater.
