    International organizations were first established in states to work on specific issues, such as the International Telecommunication Union (founded 1865) and the Universal Postal Union (founded 1874).

    International Peace Conference Created

    The International Peace Conference was organized to help find ways to calm crises peacefully and to prevent warfare. Later it established the Permanent Court of Arbitration in 1902.

    During the World War II, US President Franklin D. Roosevelt created the term "United nations" during the Declaration by United Nations, when representatives from 26 nations pledged to continue fighting against the Axis powers.
