    On the 17th of December, 1903, the very first airplane went on it's first trip. It was made by the brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright. The plane stayed in air for 12 seconds and flew a 120 feet.

It was a fighter-bomber aircraft which was used by the Royal British Air force, the French Air Force, and the United States Air Force. It could operate as both a bomber and a fighter airplane. It was last used by the Peruvian Air Force, and was retired in 1966.
