    Joseph Plateau invented this. it was a kind of toy/device that simulated motion. Series of separate pictures of motion were placed in this, and when spun or rotated in front of a mirror, a person looking through the slots could see movement.

    Eadweard Muybridge published "The Horse in Motion". He recorded the movements of a galloping horse. He used a multiple set of cameras to do this. He then concluded that all four of the horse's feet were off the ground at the same time due to his picture evidence.
