    Thomas and John Knoll released the first version of Photoshop. It is an image editing program for digital arts. It is known as the industry standard for personal photo editing programs and provides a variety of functions for users.
  • Pretty Good Privacy (PGP)

    Pretty Good Privacy (PGP)
    PGP was developed by Phil Zimmerman in 1991. It is an encryption program that provides privacy for data and email communication. Messages can be sent confidentially over a network.
  • Compact Flash released by SanDisk

    Compact Flash released by SanDisk
    Compact Flash is a memory storage device used for portable electronic devices. It became the leading flash storage device due to the mass amount of memory storage available.
  • Windows '95 released

    Windows '95 released
    Operating system Windows '95 was released. It contained many components and functions that were carried into later versions of Windows including the taskbar located at the bottom of the screen and the "Start" button.
  • PalmPilot

    PalmPilot
    Palm Inc. released it's first generation of a personal digital assistant (PDA) called the PalmPilot. They were very advanced for their time and became a household name for PDAs. They included PalmPrint and PalmOrganizer which were programs that allowed for handwriting recognition and information management.
