    Discovery of the Municipality
    Miguel de Ibarra came to town and distribution of Chia, in the census found 1,753 Indians.
  • "Casa de Yerbabuena"

    "Casa de Yerbabuena"
    Casa de Yerbabuena", existed in 1807 it was amended in 1836 and in 1854 he was made chapel. Of important events that occurred this house is the establishment of a school for boys in 1851 by the husbands Marroquin Osorio, which operated until 1852.

    Its architecture is of republican style. It is part of the Northern Railway, which began construction in 1889 and ended in in 1935. Named in memory of Miguel Antonio Caro, former president of Colombia.

    In 1935 the City Council Chia started to build in the main square a monument to the Chibcha race, which was run by Martin A. Jimenez Neira M. Alonso and Luis A. Sanchez Valderrama, was inaugurated on October 12, 1935.
  • "Castillo Marroquin"

    "Castillo Marroquin"
    It was built by Don Lorenzo Marroquín Osorio, son of Jose Manuel Marroquín and Matilde Osorio. It was built on plans brought from Europe between 1899 and 1900, under the direction of French architect Gaston Lelarge collaboration with teachers Julian Lombana and Demetrio Chavez was restored in 1952 by Roberto Restrepo

  • "El puente del Común"

    "El puente del Común"
    "El puente del Común", it was built by the Spanish engineer Esquiaqui Domingo, during the administration of Viceroy Espelette. Its strategic position at the crossroads of east to west and have been path campaigns independence and civil wars of the last century and by its proximity to the Bridge of the Common, Chia was the center of interest for tourists.

    It is a private university in Colombia. It was founded on September 21, 1979 by the Association for Teaching Aspaen and part of group of universities with Institutional Accreditation of High Quality CNA. The university is a corporate apostolic work of the Prelature of Opus Dei in Colombia.
