The Boy Scouts of America is founded
Inspired by the Boy Scouts Association in England, W.D. Boyce founds the Boy Scouts of America. BSA's founding policies stated that the Boy Scouts should be open to all boys regardless of race, color, class or religion, which was unusual for the time. Even though equality was preached on the national level, the local councils were permitted to restrict membership on these grounds if they deemed it appropriate.
