    When Amercia signed away to freedom from the Bristish conolnies. We became an idependent country and were free to have our own rights
  • Constitutional Convention

    Constitutional Convention
    In Philadelphia, PA, a convention took place to figure out all the problems of America. This is when the Constitution was established. This Convention was one of the most important events in the history of the United States.
  • Eli Whitney and the Cotton Gin

    Eli Whitney invented a machine for cleaning cotton. A worker could clean as much as 50 pounds of cotton a day. It changed the economic process in the South. (History Book Pg. 373)
  • Louisiana Purchase

    When Thomas Jefferson purchase 530,000,000 acers of land in the west. This gave us authority of the Mississippi River and doubled the size of our nation. This was a great act in American History. (Wikipideia)
  • Lewis and Clark Journey

    "Also known as the Corps of Discovery Expedition, was the first American expedition to cross what is now the western portion of the United States." -WIkipidiea They discovered tons of new plants and animal species. They were the first American's to see the Pacific from land.
  • Robert Fulton and the Steam Boat

    This new invention improved transportation. Robert Fulton developed a steamboat that could move against current, which you couldn'd do with rowed boats. He launched the boat in Clermont on the Hutson River. (History Book pg. 368.)
  • The Battle of Alamo

    Santa Anna's troops surrounded San Antonoio. The Alamo defenders and the Mexicans went to war. At the end, all but seven Texasans were dead and more than 1,000 Mexican's had fallen.
  • The Texas Revolution

    When there was conflict between the Mexican governement and the Texas Colonies. It was known as the Texas War of Independence. Texas officially became part of the United States. (WIkipidea).
  • Trail of Tears

    When all of the Native American's were forced to move West. They were viewed to white people as obsticles. The only way to solve this issue was to force them to leave. General Winfield Scott forced about 16,000 tribes into camps. This harsh jounrey of Cheerokee tribes being forced from their homeland to Indian Territory became known as the trail of tears.   • The Donner Parrty

    The Donner Party was the first ever recorded evidence of canniblism. While traveling to California, they were stranded for five months in a snow drift. Only 45 of the 84 made it to California. (History.com)
  • Mexican-American War

    When there was armed conflict between the United States and the Centralist Republics of Mexico. It was known as the Invasion of Mexico. It started because Mexico thought that they owned Texas. (Wikipiedia)
  • The California Gold Rush

    A man named James W. Marshall was at a Sutter's Mill in Californa when he struck gold. This event brought 300,000 people into California. This completely changed California, and opened up the nation. (Wikipiedia)
  • The Attack on Fort Sumter

    The Attack on Fort Sumter
    Was the bombardment and surrender of Fort Sumter. Beauregard opened fire on the Union garrison holding Fort Sumter. The fort was evaccuated the next day.

    This captured to attention of basketball players. For they were orignially a basketball shoe. These are now tredny shoes to wear for style.
  • 19th Amendment

    When the law was passed that people from either sex could vote. This upset some people, and made other people happy. But it was a huge change to our country.
  • First apperance of Batman

    Created by artsit, Bob Kane, and writer, Bill Finger. Gained his first comic book title in 1940. He became popular on TV in 1960. He has become a famous superhero across America.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    "A military strike constructed by the Japinese Navy against the United States Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. This was the start of World War II," (Wikipedia.org) which had a large impact on our country.
  • VJ Day

    This was the end of World War II. This is when the USA got Japan to surreneder out of World War II. Though it was a Pyrric vicotory from all the lives lost.
  • Brown v The Board of Education

    Brown v The Board of Education
    When our nation started allowing students of any race into public schools. This was improtant to the black history of Americ.
  • First apperance of Spider Man

    Peter Parker, a teenage high school student and person behind Spider-Man's secret identity to whose "self-obsessions with rejection, inadequacy, and loneliness." He became very popular in the US.
  • March on Washington

    This was one of the biggest rallies in history. Martin Luther King, Jr., standing in front of the Lincoln Memorial, delivered his historic "I Have a Dream" speech in which he called for an end to racism.
  • President Kennedy Assassination

    Kennedy was the 35th president of America. Kennedy was fatally shot by a sniper while traveling with his wife. This changed who was in charge of our country for the rest of his term.
  • USA First Lands on the Moon

    Appllo 11 shot for the moon from America. Neil Armstrong took the first steps on the moon and stated, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

  • The Magnificent Seven Won Gold

    The Magnificent Seven Won Gold
    Amanda Borden, Amy Chow, Dominique Dawes, Shannon Miller
    Dominique Moceanu, Jaycie Phelps, and Kerri Strug brought home Gold for team USA in the summer Olympics. This was the first team Gold from gymnastics America took home.

    When one of the most famous people in music passed away. He died of heart faliure. As the news of Elvis' death spread across the country, radio stations immediately began to play his records. People truly respected him and made lots of tributes to him.

    This was the first artifacial Earth satellite. It provided scientist very valued information, and helped make a many developments in different things.
  • September 11, 2001

    September 11, 2001
    Two planes were flown into the world trate center by Islamic terriorist. Many lives were lost and it left a large scar on our country. This taught us to be much more catious though.
