    After graduating from Harvard with a bachelors in Physics, Kuhn joined the Radio Research Laboratory's theoretical group. He worked with a radar team to come up with countermeasures against enemy radar. This was his contribution to helping the war efforts.

    His influential second book, The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, is released. In this book he introduces and argues the idea that scientific work can be defined with paradigms. He goes on to propose the idea of paradigm shifts, where scientific achievements cause anomalies in an accepted paradigm concept and this leads to a replacement of a new set of fundamentals that a scientific field follows.
