  • Making the Decision

Making the decision to lose weight/eat healthier.
  • Is it a Short Term or Long Term Decision?

Deciding on if losing weight or eating healthier is going to be a short term or long term decision. A short term can become a long term decsision, if you are to eat healthier just to lose 5 pounds, and when you lose 5 pounds you stop eating healthier, that is a short solution for the time but when you gain those 5 pounds back and you want to lose them again that can become a never ending cycle. But if you decide to eat healthier for a year then that is a long term decision.
  • Routine

Creating a routine is important to sticking with what ever goal you set. “If we establish patterns of behavior we just routinely follow, we don’t have to think (and thus run the risk for making a short-term benefit, long term risk mistake)”. Eating healthier or exercising everyday is not a fun thing for everyone but if you get into a routine it becomes a habit.

  • Domino Effect

“Everything you do in the present affects your future. Everything you did in the past is what got you here right now.” If you eat healthier when you wer little and exercise a lot then it is more likely than not that you are active in your daily life. But if you didn’t really exercise as a kid or you just sat and watched TV all day then you are more likely not as active.

  • Continuing the Domino Effect

If you were to take a day off of exercising and you start not eating as healthy then you might continue that the next day. That can start an effect, once you have one “cheat day” then you are more like to have another one, and on another one, and another one, etc.. “It is best to think of all the possible results of our actions before we do them.” Think before you act.
