Hannah's life throughout the years

    I was born at Mercy Health Saint Mary's Hospital and I weighed seven pounds and 11 ounces.

    When I was only about 4 months old there was a terrorist attack on the world trade center, my mom remembers she was holding me, and was talking on the phone, while the morning news was on and the news broke, this made her fearful of the world she had just brought her child into.

    George Bush creates the Department of Homeland Security to fight threats of terrorism 10 days before my first birthday
  • Dad's Surgery

    My dad had a colonoscopy, this would be the first of his many surgeries to come
  • Trip to Beaver Island

    Trip to Beaver Island
    My dad, mom, sister and I went to Beaver Island, this was the first family trip that I can remember and honestly my favorite family trip.

    Flew to Florida for the first time and went to Disney World.

    I went to The Jonas Brothers concert with my sister at Van Andel Arena, and when they were switching instruments in between songs I screamed "I love you Nick Jonas!" as loud as I could and he said it back

    I made my first communion when I was 7 years old at the Saint Andrews Cathedral. At the time I didn't understand why it was a big deal, but I remember it felt like I was having a second birthday because everyone was giving me money so I wasn't complaining

    In the second grade I switched from Saint Andrews Catholic school to Byron Center. I remember I was excited that I didn't have to wear a uniform everyday, but I was also scared because Byron center was much bigger than my old school which only had 11 kids in all of the first grade. I had a hard time understanding why we said the pledge of allegiance everyday instead of a morning prayer, but I eventually got used to it.
  • Summer Camp

    Went to camp Geneva with my friend for 2 weeks and up to that point it was the longest time I had been away from my family.
  • My 10th birthday

    My 10th birthday
    I turned 10 the same year my sister graduated from high-school. The bad thing was that my sisters open house was the day directly after my birthday so we weren't going to be able to celebrate because my parents had to prepare food and make sure the whole house was ready. However my aunt took me out for a picnic and i got to pick any cake and other snacks that I wanted.

    Spent my entire summer in Grand Haven with my friend and her family for the first month and then spent the last two with my aunt and uncle.

    I got a pet fish and named it Clark and he is still living to this day.

    I got glasses, which i knew was enviably going to happen because everyone in my immediate family had bad eye sight
  • Hip replacement

    My dad got a simultaneous total hip replacement, which means he got both of his hips replaced at the same time, which was difficult for him and we spent most of our days in and out of the hospital, by the end of it I knew my way around Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital like the back of my hand

    I got braces and only had to have them on for about a year and a half
  • ADHD

    I got diagnosed with predominantly inattentive ADHD after years of struggling to focus and hold proper conversations, this caused my GPA to jump from a 3.1 freshman year to a 3.8 my junior year.
  • Grandparents death

    My Grandpa on my mom's side passed away from lung cancer and my grandma on my dad's side also died from cancer a few months later. It was a sad year to say the least.

    My dad got diagnosed with cancer and began his first rounds of radiation.

    I will be graduating from high school in May of 2020 and I plan on attending GVSU
