    The Stock Market Crash also known as Black Tuesday is when investors traded 16 million shares on the New York Stock Exchange. Billion of dollars were wiped as well as investors. The important because it accelerated the global economic collapse.
  • Unemployment

    Unemployment
    After the crash more then 3.2 million people were unemployed. 1.5 million more people from before the crash with no income and no way to take care of families. This was important because extensive unemployment during this time had a major effect on the U.S population.
  • Ford Motor March

    Thousands if unemployed workers marched on the Ford Motors Company's Plant. They did not like this so police and security guards attack killing 4 workers and injuring many more. This is important because its showing the rage of the unemployed people.
  • Bank Collapses

    The New York Bank of United States collapses. This NY bank has over $200 million in deposits. The tragic collapse makes it the largest single bank failure in nation's history. This is important because after this happend everything else started falling apart in the country.

    Many men and women smashed windows of grocery stores and left with fruit canned goods , bacon and ham. As a store owner tried to stop the people bu pulling out a gun. The riot tried to be stopped by police while several were arrested. This was important because it showed the country at its lowest point trying to make a way for their families.

    This allowed the R.F.C to give 2 billion to banks , insurance companies , building and loan associations and many more. This was important because they needed this money to re-open businesses and decrease unemployment.

    Franklin D. Roosevelt defeats President Herbert Hoover in a voting which he won majority of to win the presidency . This is important because later on he started coming up with ways to help save failing banks in the industry passing acts that cause 3/4 of banks to open back up.

    This was designed to be a employment program for young men of ages 17-27. It was sort of a volunteer army that would work in nation forest and parks. This is important because this gave 500,000 men work.

    This was a federally run hydroelectric power program that build damns , produced fertilizer and developed recreational lands. This was important because it helped reduce the problems of floods & deforestation by teaching better farming methods.

    During the Great Depression a 3 days dust storm that blew 350 million tons of soil off the terrain of the West and Southwest. Some cities on the East Coast were forced to use street lamps during the day to see through the dust. This was important because it damaged economy and agriculture.

    This is a agency that provides work training based on the U.S citizenship and finical need for youth from ages 16-25. Creating opportunity to provide work-study training for graduate students. This is important because to help over 4.5 million young people find work or get vocational training.

    To stimulate the economy sink FDR asks Congress to authorize 3.75 billion dollars in federal spending. This was important because this was the first step into bringing funds and the economy back where it needed to be.
