  • Ratification of the Articles of Confederation

    Failed document that the United States' Government was to be based around. Gave to little power to national government.
  • Constitutional Convention

    Meeting intended to revise the Articles of Confederation, ended up overthrowing the government...again.
  • Ratification of the 10th Amendment

    States that power not specified in the Constitution are not allowed to be enforced by the national Government, but does not say that the state Government cannot enforce them.
  • Kentucky and Virgninia Resolutions

    Argued that the states should have the power to nullify an act by Congress that the states saw as unconstitutional.
  • McCulloch V Maryland

    Court case that invoked the Neccasary and Proper Clause. Ruled that Maryland was specificly targeting the federal bank.
