Georgia's history of national disasters
Georgia has had a lot of national disasters it has had Floods,Earthquakes,Terrible Snow storms etc etc. The biggest national disaster was a Flood where the zoo animals escaped from the zoo.Some people say it was like a game in the capital of Georgia but see there were at least 12 killed at the time and the animals only 2 were killed by zookeepers one Tiger and one Bear. The animals names were tigers bear hippos and others. -
500-Year Floods
In September 2009,continuous rain fell in Georgia there were at lest 10 deaths and $500 million in damage. Some 20,000 Homes,Businesses and other Building suffered major damage,And 23 country's received disaster declarations. -
snow storm
In late January snow and ice paralysed north and central Georgia leaving thousand of motorists stranded in there cars. Some for more then 20 hours. According to the Georgia city Patrol, there were more than 1,500 winter storm related accidents and more than 180 injuries. Just two weeks later, in early February, a more powerful storm brought heavy snow and record amounts of ice to north and central Georgia, leaving more than 200,000 Georgians without power. thank you for listening
