    Hernando de Soto was a Spanish explorer and conquistador who participated in the conquests of Central America and Peru. He discovered the Mississippi River. He got sick after crossing the Mississippi River and died.
  • Charter of 1732

    Charter of 1732
    During this period King George was in rule and he signed the Charter of 1732. The reason was because Oglethorpe believed that the best way the poor to find a new life and start a new colony.

    In England 1732 the British government authorized the establishment of the colony in America. In 1733 colonists and Oglethorpe landed in Savannah. Oglethorpe was the last kid in the family and he was known as the explorer in the family.

    The American Revolution was a struggle between 13 American colonies and Great Britain. The American colonies wished to attain independence and created a new sovereign nation-the U.S. The war lasted for 8 years.
  • Battle of Kettle Creek

    This was fought during the American Revolution on this day in 1779. The Patriot victory frustrated the British. The British marched the army through Georgia and they got beaten there by the Patriots.
