At this time, Lewes was working at another platform called Fortnightly Review. He published The Biographical History of Philosophy. A work in which he announced that he could not put stock in the belief of metaphysics. This being a thought influenced in his views on positivism. The Leader
George Henry Lewes and his friend, Thornton Leigh Hunt, founded a newspaper called The Leader. His work called Comte's Philosophy of Sciences (1853) was published and shared using this platform. It was during this time that Lewes was heavily influenced by the positivist teachings of August Comte. -

His last work before death was the Problems of Life and Mind. This is where he shared his thoughts on the relationships between biological, psychological, and metaphysical issues. This, of course, went against positivist interests. -
The Foundations of a Creed
Lewes wrote two volumes of The Foundations of a Creed. In them, he spoke on the relationship between metaphysics and science. Though he drifted far from it, he still approached the topic with slight positivist views.
