  • Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizens

    Important document during the French Revolution that guaranteed all citizens "liberty, property, security, and resistance to opression".
  • Legislative Assembly declares war against Austria and Prussia

  • Introduction of the Guillotine

    Invention of a quick and painfree way of execution.
  • France becomes a republic

    The National Conventions take control of the government and gets rid of monarchy in France, and decclares it a republic.
  • Period: to

    Reign of Terror

    Robespierre governs France as a dictator and inflicts terror on the citizens.This ends after the National Covention sent Roberpierre to the guillotine.
  • Period of Order

    National Convention creates a new government, which gave France a period of order. During this period Napoleon Bonaparte is elected the commander of the French Army.
