    The first global war, it began when the britisth declared war in france. France took part of the great war for the empire in india and north america, this was fougth against britain. France lost a lot of money during the battles.

    Louis XVI and Marie Antoniette ascended the throne in France and they spended the countries money in glambing, clothes, jewelery, and other unnecessary luxuries.

    Revolutionary movement in which the American colonies fought for their independance from England. France intervened in the revolution by giving weapons and money to the American troops.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    The third estate announced themselves as the National Assembly and swore an oath in which they said that they would not disband until a new constitution was made. This was the first spark of rebellion from the third estate.
  • The Fall of the Bastille

    The king did not listen to the National Assembly´s proposals, so they decided to attack a symbolic place that represented monarch authority , such as the Bastille. The third estate and the army stormed the Bastille and took the weapons inside of it. This was important because it was the first moment in which the king lost power over his subdites.

  • Woman´s March on Versailles

    During this period bread was very expensive, therefore the third estate could not afford for food. Women decided to march to the king and queen´s palace and broke into it, forcing the monarchy to leave Versailles. This was a noticeable event, since citizens noticed that through unity they could accomplish things.

    Mass Execution of enemies of the Revolution. Many people were killed, especially traitors ans counterrevolutionaries.

    Robespierre, head of the Jacobins, was beheaded by the National Convention, because they thought that they will be the next to die.

    The Directory was the new executive power of France. It was a committee made up of 5 people, which were consumed by corruption.

    Napoleon Bonaparte, a popular army general, organized a coup d'etat in France. One of the main reasons was the corruption of The Directory.
