    Meeting of the Estates General
    King Louis summoned the Estates General to fix the monarchy's financial crisis. Estates General was represented by three classes, The clergy, the nobles and the third estates, which was the rest of the population. Each class had one vote. This means that the clergy and the nobles could always out rule the third estate. So the third estate formed their own national assembly. The the Estates General kicked them out of the meeting.

    Fall of the Bastille
    An angry mob marched on the Bastille, which was considered as a symbol of the hated Louis' regime. Parisians took it as a place to vent out their frustrations. The commander of Bastille and his troops fought for a couple hours they surrendered to the mob.

    A lot of people in France were hungry, unemployed and restless. A large crowed marched to the Palace of Versailles. They broke into Queen Marie Antoinette's quarters. They wanted brad and for the king and his family to live among the people. King Louis agreed thinking it will only be a short stay.

    Flight to Varennes
    The National Assembly was still working on the Constitution for France. Then the Assembly was going to limit the King's authority, but the king could veto it, and the Assembly could overrule the veto. So the king and queen felt like prisoners. They then decided to leave France and go to Austria. Before they left the king denounced the Revolution. The got within a few miles of the border before they got recognized in the town of Varennes and had to go back.

    The construction finally came into effect. France was claimed to be a constitutional monarchy, then the National Assembly got replaced by the Legislature Assembly. No one from the National Assembly got elected for the Legislature Assembly.

    The Legislative was debating on war. Revolutionary France was seen as fear and anger by the European monarchies. On April 20, 1792, France declared war on Austria.

    A mob of about 20,000 people attacked the Tuileries Palace. The king and queen escaped and got protection from the Legislative Assembly. Then the Assembly placed them under arrest.

    After the arrests if the king and queen, the Legislative Assembly replaced it's self with the National Convention. The first thing they did was announce France as a republic. Then later they charged Lewis with treason and he was guilty. on January 21st 1793 Lewis was decapitated on the streets of Paris. movie was then accused me of his crimes and she was found guilty on to a 16th and decapitaied the same day as Lewis.

    Reign of Terror
    Maximilien Robespierre established himself as leader of the reign of terror. He wanted to get rid of France's enemies. Between September 1793 to July save it under for about 16,000 people were decapitated. Most of the French Republic were dead or have fled the Republic. On July 27th, 1794 he was arrested and then decapitated at the next day.

    Directory and the Rise of Napoleon
    The National convention create a new government and the directory was really a government consisting of five members. Almost immediately the directory had corruption, political conflict, financial problems and depended on the army to main in power. In 1799 Napoleon came back from the military in Egypt and outsted the directory.
