    The Storming of the Bastille
    The Bastille was a french prison that was attacked by a mob. The mob was attacking the building to gain access of their large supply of ammunition. The Storming of the Bastille marked the start of the Revolution, and is a celebrated holiday in France
  • March to Versailles

    March to Versailles
    A big group of people marched all the way from Paris to Versailles. They demanded that the price of bread be lowered. They also demanded that the queen and king move back to Paris.

    Queen Marie Antoinette and King Louis XVI attempt to flee France. After a day they were captured and returned back. This proved the king couldn't b trusted and his signing of the constitution was void.

    The September Massacres

    A bunch of political prisoners were slaughtered. 1200-1400 prisoners were killed. 233 were Catholic priests.
  • Execution of King Louis

    Execution of King Louis
    King Louis was executed by guillotine in the Place de la Revolution in France. He said, "I die innocent of all the crimes imputed to me. I pardon the authors of my death, and pray God that the blood you are about to shed will never fall upon France". The rest of his last words were drowned out by a drum roll.
  • Beginning of "The Reign of Terror"

    Robespierre was the leader of the Committee of Public Safety, and the leader of the reign of terror. HE wanted to rid France of enemies. He tried to fight off enemies and kill opposing french people.
