Insurgents attacked the Bastille inorder to steal large weapons and amunition. Bastille was also the symbol of royal power. -

The french peoples begin workin twards a constitution that would liberate them from royalist control. -
Completing the Constitution
As most of the Assembly still favoured a constitutional monarchy so the various groups reached a compromise which left Louis XVI as little more than a figurehead. -
