    French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War was a war between Great Britain, France, and Indians the french's allies. This war was part of the 7 ears war it was started because of conflict over ongoing frontier. After almost 9 years of war the British signed the Treaty of Paris ending the war. Land was gained in this war but money was lost. To be honest they would have both benefited from no war.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act reduced the tax rate of molasses by 3 pence per gallon. But it made sure that collection of tax will be met. The importance of this act is that there is a huge change to the tax policy. Instead of getting levied the tax on sugar was enacted solely to get Britain out of debt.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act passed by British Parliaments forced the colonist to pay tax on special items such as newspapers. These items were stamped this represented they were special items. This rule lasted 10 years before the colonist couldn't take any more causing the Revolutionary War and American independence.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    This event happened on King street the massacre began with protesters started getting violent (throwing snowball and rocks.) This frightened one of the soldiers so they shot a protester. This began other soldiers to join in and shot more protesters. This left 5 colonist dead and 3 injured. The effect this made is that colonist thinking poorly of British soldiers.

    This was on of the many acts passed by the British Parliament this act granted the British East India Company Tea the exclusive control of tea sales in the american colonies. This angered the Sons of Liberty causing the Boston Tea Party.

    This was a protest involving the Sons of Liberty and Samuel Adams They dressed up as Mohawk Indians and dumped 342 chest of tea over 3 boats. They did this as a protest to tax on tea. The effect of this event was the Intolerable Acts.

    Boston Port Act
    This was a law passed by the British Parliament that closed the Boston harbor because of the Boston Tea Party. They forced the 1 million dollars worth of tea would be paid back by the city residents before the Harbor could be back in business. This was the first part of the Coercive Acts.

    This act was part of the Intolerable Acts. This act forced colonist to pay for the soldiers needs such as food and clothing. And gave soldiers the right to burst in someones home at any time and be given food and shelter. Also the Governor could assign you a solider to take care of. This angered the colonist and made them feel watched. This gave the colonist another reason to rebel.

    This was a famous speech given by Patrick Henry that transformed the way people feel about the laws being passed. This changed peoples hearts on how the king was treating them this gave them the motive to rebel and protest against the King and the stupid rules passed.

    These were the first two battles of the Revolutionary War so they clearly have great significance. This battle was started because the British commander heard of weapons and supplies being stockpiled by the Patriots. The effect of these to battles is America being free.

    This was a battle that meant a lot since Fort Ticonderoga was a key point of access to both Canada and the Hudson River Valley. The Patriots attacked at dawn catching the British off guard and they won this battle. This gave the Patriots much needed artillery.

    The Declaration of Independence was a document written by Thomas Jefferson that explained why the north american colonies owned by the British wanted independence. This document was signed by 52 congressional delegates. Some of them include Thomas Jefferson, John Adams,Edward Rutledge, John Hancock, and Benjamin Franklin.

    The Battle of Yorktown also known as the Siege of Yorktown was a battle in the revolutionary war. This battle was won by the Patriots being an decisive victory with George Washington controlling forces and with Frances' help.

    General Cornwallis surrenders to Washington at Yorktown
    On October 19,1781 in Yorktown General Cornwallis surrenders 8000 British soldiers and seamen to american patriots. This is a huge victory for George Washington and the patriots. This is one of the most important events in the American revolution.

    Peace Treaty Signed
    On September 3, 1783 the Peace Treaty is signed by King George the 3rd ending the revolutionary war and making america independent from Great Britain. This treaty was later ratified by the Continental Congress early in 1784.
