This organization of native-born, Protestant, White Supremecists is responsible for countless hate crimes towards African Americans, including lynching.     AIDS Epidemic
    The AIDS epidemic in the US was caused by HIV, and was first found in young gay men in 1981. In 1982, the CDC used the term AIDS to describe the disease. Since it was most commonly found in homosexual men, AIDS became known as the "gay plague", and the LGBT community faced severe discrimination as a result. President Reagan's lack of action regarding the crisis furthered culture battles in the US.

    Americans With Disabilities Act Passed
    This was a landmark law signed into effect by President George H.W. Bush that would prohibit discrimination against people with physical and mental disabilities. One of the main groups that benefited from this Act were war veterans​ who struggled with PTSD or were handicapped.
