One 23 year old man was facing death one cold winter night, in Boston, Dec 23, 1954. Richard Herrick the lucky patient was admitted to Peter Bent Brigham Hospital with chronic nephritis, his twin brother Ronald, agreed to give one of his healthy kidneys to his brother. Only after meeting with the herrick family on multiple occasions, was the surgical team comfortable with performing the kidney transplant surgery. richard woke up with a healthy kidney the did regret anything.
