    Thomas Jefferson became president on February 17,1801. He was Vice President the same time John Adams was President. Jefferson was elected President right after Adams term was up. Thomas Jefferson was President till 1809 and he served his two terms.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase got Louisiana about 828,000 square miles from France. The new territory was from the Mississippi River to east of the Rocky Mountains. Part of our 15 countries came from this land deal.
  • The Lewis and Clark expedition set off

    This expedition was the first one to ever cross the western portion of the United States. They were set off after the Louisiana Territory was purchased. They found great land and it was very successful expedition

    James Madison was elected president after Thomas Jefferson served his two, four year terms. He was elected President in December of the year 1808. James Madison also served a two term presidency.

    The War of 1812 was caused by the British not trading with America and so the Americans declared war to expand there territory. Depending on who you ask they will say the Americans won and other people will say that Great Britain won. I think that the Americans won because they had a good solid army and a descent navy.

    James Monroe became President on March 4th, 1817 and served two terms. James Monroe created the Monroe Doctrine in 1823 and warned European nations that they would not tolerate any further colonization or puppet Monarchs. James Monroe got Mississippi as a American State.

    Northerners and Southerners were trying to figure out if Missouri would be a slave or free state. The congress passed this on March 3, 1812. Missouri became a slave state.

    John Quincy Adams was the 6th United States President and was elected in 1825. Adams served one term before Andrew Jackson became president. Adams created the tariff of 1828 that helped protect the northern part of the United States.
