    King Hammurabi

    King Hammurabi was a Mesopotamian King who has influenced our world today. Hammurabi is famous for his creation of the "Code of Hammurabi" a set of laws which acted as the first governmental rules. Besides his creation of law, Hammurabi also served as a powerful ruler, tactful and violent in military.
  • Period: 1508 BCE to 1458 BCE

    Pharaoh Hatshepsut

    Hatshepsut is an Egyptian Pharaoh, who is famous not only for her work as a Pharaoh, but also for being one of the strongest female leaders of her time. Hatshepsut united trade among many surrounding civilizations, led building projects, and overall gathering loads of wealth to Egypt.
  • Period: 590 BCE to 529 BCE

    Cyrus the Great

    Cyrus the Great was the King of Persia, and credited to complete many acts of human rights. Cyrus set many groups of people free, and allowed for freedom of religion, and declared equality among any groups. Cyrus also led important military conquests, one of those being the conquering of Babylon.

    Alexander the Great

    Alexander the Great was a powerful Macedonian King, considered the most powerful general of his time. Alexander came undefeated in practically all of his conquests. With his charisma, and strategy, Alexander created one of the most expansive and powerful empires of all time.
  • Period: 100 BCE to 44 BCE

    Julius Caesar

    Julius Caesar is perhaps one of the most well-known Roman Emperors of all. Known for making Rome an empire, rather than a republic, Julius also caused an uprising of problems after his death. Due to the way Julius ruled, those who came after Caesar showed to cause the downfall of Rome, which he is also credited with.
  • Period: 70 BCE to 30 BCE

    Cleopatra

    Along with Hatshepsut, Cleopatra was an incredibly important female Pharaoh. Cleopatra made strong allies, enhanced trade, and overall made Egypt massively more powerful than it was before her. Cleopatra not only influenced Egyptian politics, but had a strong part in changing Rome. Cleopatra will forever be the most famous female Pharaoh, as her influence was remarkable.
  • Period: 280 to 337

    Constantine

    Constantine was a Roman Emperor with many accomplishments credited to him. A strong religious advocate, Constantine made Christianity flourish in Rome, soon making it Rome's main religion rather than paganism. Constantine also founded Constantinople, a city which led as a strong political and military weapon to Rome. Without Constantinople, Rome would be significantly less powerful.

    Columbus

    Columbus is seen as one of the most important explorers of all. He discovered the "new world" in 1492. He also introduced many different kinds of species of animals and plants to many different continents, increasing global exchange. Though a controversial person, his accomplishments are very present in today's world.

    Martin Luther

    Martin Luther was a religious advocate who stood against the Catholic Church in a time of need. Luther was a professor, writer, and most importantly a reformer who attacked the very present indulgences of the Church. Luther had an intelligent mind which led to his strong ideas which got him a strong following and influence in this time.
  • Period: 1491 to 1547

    King Henry the Eighth

    King Henry the Eighth, though influential, had a darker history. It is believed by many that King Henry was the main reason for the start of the Reformation, a bloody and destructive time in which many died. King Henry wanted a divorce in a time which that was simply taboo. With standing against the Church, large outbreaks of violence stemmed from his actions.
