  • Exposition

    At the very beginning we are intoduced to the protaginist, Guy Montag. The setting is an unamed futuristic city.
  • Part 1

    Montag, a fireman, meets a seventeen year old girl named Clarisse who questions what he does. She explains how she used to thuink that fireman used to put fires out, not start them. Despite not knowing her Mantag is imediately affected by her thoughts, especially when she makes him realize that he does not really like what he does and is actually sad inside
  • Part 1

    As the days go by Montag experiences a few a series of life changing events. First his wife attempts suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills, then when he is doing his job, of burning books, a women jumps in and demands to be burned alive with her books, and then Clarisse gets run over by speeding cars and most likely dies. This leads to Montag beginning to question the life he was living.
  • Part 1

    Montag begins to look for answers in his life by looking and reading a stash of books that he had stolen of the past year and hidden in an air condition vent.
  • Part 1

    After Montag doesn't show up to work Beatty becomes suspicious and decideds to visit him and figure out what's troubling him. When Beatty shows up Montagf ask Beatty why he feels like something is wrong with his life. Beatty explains that this is something that every fireman goes through this period of curiosity about books. She explains that books need to be destroyed because if an individual becomes superior intellectually it could make the other people bad about themselves.
  • Part 1

    After Beatty's long lecture Montag ask Beatty what happens if a fireman is found with books. Beatty explains that their is no consequence as long as the fireman returns the books within twenty-four hours. Once Beatty leaves Montag shows Mildred the books that he had been hiding in the house. Montag explains to Mildred that he feels like something is wrong in his life and is going to attempt to read the books to find some answers. Montag and Mildred try to read the books but are unable to.
  • Part 2

    After hours of attenpting to read books Montag decides to ask an old English professor named Faber who he met a year ago. When Montag arrives to Faber's house, Faber is a little uneasy about helping Montag out but eventually agrees to help him with his reading. When Montag goes home he finds Mildred's friends watchning TV.
  • Part 2

    Faber tells Montag that it will do him no good to just read books, he must interrupt what he learns to what it means. Montag thinks of what Faber means throughout the next few days. Montag decides to hand over one to Beatty to stop any curiosity that comes up in her mind. Beatty begins to again lecture Montag about how books are dangerous and deserve to be burned.
  • Part 2

    While Beatty is talking the fire alarm goes off. The fireman take off to the house and Montag follows only to find out that they arrive at his own house.
  • Part 3

    Once they arrive at Montag's house Beatty begins to ask Montag why even though she doesn't sound too suprised. Mildred walks out of the house and Montag's finda out that Mildred jas betrayed him. Mildred abandons Montag and leaves in a beetle car. Faber communicates himself with Montag and ask what has happened. Montag explains the situation and Faber suggest for Montag to just get away.
  • Part 3

    Beatty orders Montag to burn the house and then tells him that when he is finished he is under arrest. Beatty informs Montag that eailer Mildred's friends pulled the alarm as well but she let that ride. Montag figures the only thing he can do is go to Faber for help. Faber tells Montag that he will leave town to go find someone that can help them. Montag gives Faber some funds to help Faber keep the hounds out of his house. Montag escapes to a river to get away from the situation.
  • Part 3

    Montag eventually finds a group of intellectuals named the " The Book People " led by a man named Granger. Granger greets Montag and explains that a secret group of people that admire all literature. Granger then explains that the knowledge they aquire now will help them when the war, which had just been declared was over. Later Montag sees jets appear in the sky and completely destroy the city with bombs. Montah and Granger agree that the only thing to so now is to rebuild civilization.
