    The civil war had been fought between the Nationalists and the Communist party of China. The USSR started to supported the Communist only to spread communism. The leader of the Chinese Communists was Mao Zedong and competing with them was Chiang- Kai Shek, the leader of the Nationalists.

    "Iron Curtain" speech
    Winston Churchill had given a speech at Westminster College called the Sinews of Peace. Winston had thrown the metaphor of a iron curtain separating Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. It was considered to be in the beginning of the war and seem to have start the cold war.

    The Marshall Plan was issued to help bring Western Germany back from WW2. The United States basically gave 15 billion dollars to help reconstruct. It was a four year plan that made sure cities were in the makings of rebuilding following industries and to remove trade barriers nest to European neighbors.

    Berlin Airlift

    The Berlin Airlift was post WW2 and Berlin was quite empty on supplies. The Soviet Union had blocked any way of getting into West Berlin, so the United States decided to drop them food and water from plans. For almost a year, the US helped nearly 2 million in West Berlin.

    Germany splits into two parts that include; West and East Germany. West Germany had a democratic system and they were allied with the United States. On the other hand, East Germany had a dictatorship and they were allied with the Soviet Union.

    It all started when 75,000 soldiers invaded the 38th parallel. At one point, America joined the war to help support the Korean side. The war was fought between North Korea Communists and South Korea Capitalists.

    The Vietnam War was one of the most brutal wars. Loosing 3 million people (including Americans), more than half of the dead were Vietnam civilians. The USA were supporting the non- communists and the USSR were supporting communists. The Vietnam War is also called the Second Indochina War.

    With the assistance of the Soviet Union, the Berlin wall was built. The Berlin divided East and West Germany. It kept Western Fascists from entering East Germany.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was a 13 day head- to- head battle between the United States and the Soviet Union. This Crisis almost was the result of WW3. The Cuban Missile Crisis is also known as the October Crisis of 1962, the Caribbean Crisis, or Missile Scare.
