Endangered Timeline

  • Period: to

    Timeline.

  • First Dangerous decline.

Giant Pandas first real decline happened in 1986. They were a part of the category (Rare) though.
  • Decreasing Rapidly

By 1988, Population decreased a near 13% but was still in the category (Rare). This is when precautionary action was slowly being taken to help Pandas.
  • Serious Drop.

Two years after 1988, in 1990, Giant pandas became endangered and were at a risk of being all put in zoos to help increase population so that they didn't go extinct.
  • Maintaining Population.

For Four years, Panda population was pretty maintained and was on the back up soon. Many pandas were in zoos and were being born and raised to keep alive.
  • Mass Population Drop.

In 1996, Pandas were getting poached for their hide and meat. They have been poached at a serious rate, especially at this time when prices were good. They moved further down and were nearly Extinct.
  • Zoos Maintaining Pandas.

Up to 2008, Zoos have been keeping pandas alive. Almost all pandas were in zoos and were being raised there. Pandas were finally growing and coming back from being nearly extinct.
  • Jungle Decrease.

In 2012, Jungles and habitats for pandas have been decreased. Bamboo was declining and was getting harder to find. Climate change and weather reasoning was also not helping it all. There has been conservation attempts to keep enough for pandas as well.
  • Finale Increase for Pandas!

By the year 2016, Pandas increased population has put them back in the wild, but some are still in zoos and still being raised just in case. Pandas have moved up to only vulnerable and are still rising thanks to conservation efforts to protect pandas. Pandas are still a protected species and will be for a very long time.
