    These were the first military engagements of the American Revolution. The battles were fought in the province of Massachusetts, Middlesex County and within the towns of Lexington and Concord. The British killed several minutemen and then continued on to Concord. The tensions between the British and the colonies had been building for years

    Benedict Arnold of Massachusetts joined Ethan Allen in leading the Green Mountain boys and attacked sleeping British troops. This is what kicked off the battle. This was the first American Victory of the American Revolution

    George Washington's army crossed the icy Delaware River on Christmas Day in 1776. After that over the course of 10 days, he was victorious in two battles. One of them was the Battle of Trenton. He defeated the Hessian mercenaries before withdrawing any of his troops.

Cornwallis arrived in Princeton on the evening of January 2nd with a ton of troops to intimidate Washington's exhausted troops after the battle of Trenton. But Washington was known as a strategic genius and was able to defeat Cornwalis.
