    What accomplishment are you most proud of?

    Having raised 2 children who are capable caring adults and having 9 (4 from my side born 6/1996, 5/2000, 12/2006, and 1/2011) (Five on my husband's side born on 10/1995, 12/1996, 6/1999, 8/2005 and 12/2007) grandchildren who usually ask me for advice and at least listen to experienced suggestions.

    1st year of high school 1969 was in Batavia IL. The balance of High School was also in Naperville IL.

    What was school like when you were a child?

    Grade school was good. 1959 thru 1965 Junior High was miserable because I was bullied pretty much every day 1966 thru 1968. High School was not much better in 1969- January 1972. I had enough credits to graduate in January 1972 and did so escape the misery.

    What type of music did you listen to? Favorite song?

    Mostly Country and Western, some early rock-n-roll and some gospel. My favorite song then and still is Amazing Grace.

    Babysitting, 50 cents an hour.

    Single family home. 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room and kitchen-probably about 1,000 square feet.

    Bell bottom hip hugger pants, bangs, and long hair on boys.

    Got married on my 18th birthday the first time. The second time on when I was 53.

    Not really, both sides of my family are pretty much normally dysfunctional.

    What makes you happy? Has this changed over the years?

    Family, friends, loving, giving, sharing, just being useful and contributory to life and living. Very much so. It seems ageing has had it's way in reprioritizing my wants and needs.

    My children's father is Steven Ray Larrison born on July 25, 1951. And my husband today is Allen Ross Broyles born on November 4, 1944.

    Only that it is of German origin

    In a hospital in Aurora, Illinois.
  • What world event had the most impact on you growing up? Did any of them personally affect your family?

    As kids we knew little of world events. The first landing and wallk on the moon was most memorable on July 20, 1969, the racial unrest of the 60's was the most uncomfortable in 1964-1968 and the assassination of President Kennedy was the most unsettling November 22, 1963. The town I grew up in was small so the sense of community and family were closed related. Anything that impacted someone you knew pretty much impacted you.

    How/when did you meet?

    Met Steve preparing for my friend's wedding of the Summer of 1972. (He was home on leave from the airforce and her step-brother) I met my husband today on the yahoo personal internet site Fall in 2006.

    Where/when did you get married?

    Married Steve in his family's church of choice in Aurora IL on November 4, 1972. And married Allen at my church of choice in Aurora IL on January 26, 2008.

    What memory stands out the most from your wedding?

    The first time Steve dropped my wedding band and it rolled back under the 2nd pew. The second time was all the joy and blessings wished on and for us by friends and family.
  • How is the world today different from what it was like when you were a child?

    Communication is so overwhelming today that life seems extremely rushed and complicated. Life was slower and simpler when I was growing up.
