    I came into this world as the first out of 3 children from my family. My father was finishing his education degree in Lethbridge and my mom was finishing her Diploma in Occupational Therapy in Lethbridge as well.

    Early Stages of Teaching
    At a young age I was introduced to teaching and education. At the time my parents were both in university, so I got to tag along to a lot of their classes. When my father got a teaching job in Fox Creek, AB he would invite me into his class to help "teach" any one of his classes.
  • Schooling at Bentley School

    Schooling at Bentley School
    From Preschool to Grade 12, I did all of my schooling in Bentley. I participated in a lot of extracurriculars whether that be music, sports or leadership programs. My father was my P.E. and Vice Principal of my high school and my mom was the secretary of the high school as well.

    Camp Counsellor at Camp Silversides
    For two years, I was a camp counsellor at a summer camp. Throughout those two years, I learned how to make relationships with kids. I also learned how to teach different skills to campers and even learn some new skills myself.
  • Working with the City of Red Deer

    In April, I received a job with the City of Red Deer to work as a lifeguard instructor at the Collicutt Centre. Throughout the past 5 years, I have learned how to lead staff members, teach students in many different ways how to swim, lesson planning, and how to give instructional feedback to students and parents.

    After twelve long years, I graduated from Bentley school. I decided to follow in the footsteps of my father and become a teacher.

    I started my degree at Red Deer College. I was a volunteer for majority of the Education Undergrad Society's events and went as many Professional Development sessions as I could to grow as a learner and as a pre-service teacher.

    In the Middle Years Program, not only did we learn about inclusion, diversity, lesson planning, and the core subjects. But we also got to work with many of our colleagues throughout the two years of our program.
  • Graduating from UofA/RDC Collaborative Degree

    Graduating from UofA/RDC Collaborative Degree
    I graduated from the University of Alberta/Red Deer College Middle Years Collaborative Program Degree. I not only completed the academic requirements but two rounds of practicum. One at Fox Run Middle School in Sylvan Lake and my final round at Ecole' Innisfail Middle School in Innisfail.
