    1920- Education
    In 1920 more students were able to attend school than before and during this prosperous time, schools adapted to teaching students of new immigrant families. Schools also started offering a broad range of courses for students to train for industrial jobs.
  • 1930

    Segregated schools were common during the 1930's. Although separate schools for black and white children were required under the law to be “separate but equal,” the buildings, classroom supplies, books, and the treatment of students and teachers were most often unequal.
  • 1940

    At all grades school became better organized, better funded, and more standardized across the world. Universities were modernized. In subjects such as literature, history, and the arts, the college curriculum was made more professional and was more carefully thought out
  • 1950

    In 1950 schools denied the admission to black people and would only allow white kids in public schools.
  • 1960

    During the 1960s, students from school through university-level began studying old subjects in new ways. Education theorists insisted that teachers should be empowered to develop their students minds and encourage their curiosity, rather than stressing them out by memorising.
  • 1970

    The 1970s was a decade of transformation in education. Efforts were made to increase opportunities and improve performance of previously disadvantaged people who are, African Americans, the disabled, and, women.
  • 1980

    In 1980 schools in America started to get lesser grades and bad universities because there was a lot of violence in their school environment.
  • 1990

    In 1990 there was a lot of violence, low scores on standardized tests, run-down school buildings which convinced many parents to explore other education options for their children. Many of the more than forty million American school-aged children in the late 1990s, thirty million were enrolled in public schools.
  • 2000

    In the 2000’s the education evolved and everybody was allowed in school with no discrimination. Few schools also started to use technology.
  • 2010

    In 2010 all schools started to use technology and students got used to having the internet.
  • 2020- The Online Year

    In 2020 the coronavirus pandemic has restricted everybody to stay at home and so schools started to adapt and use applications such as Zoom to interact and educate students online.
