Since its beginning days on Facebook, the hashtag has made its way onto other social media sites like Twitter, Instagram, and even TikTok. Chapters were created in cities across the U.S. and it is still talked about today whether it's from people who are in support of Black lives or people who oppose it.

    The Stop Funding Hate hashtag was an activism campaign started in the UK in which they were taking action against anti-migrant reporting in British newspapers. In one of the tactics they used, the group tagged LEGO on Twitter to request them to stop funding hate which caused LEGO to pull its promotional giveaways from the Daily Mail. Other corporations started to follow suit saying that they were doing so for the concern of human rights.

    After a report came out that President Trump allegedly told his staff to dress like women, the hashtag #DressLikeAWoman, went viral on Twitter. Users of the platform posted pictures of either themselves or women they look up to dressed in their professional roles. The hashtag was to showcase that dressing like a woman came in variety.

    The NAACP, the Anti-Defamation League, and other civil rights groups created the stop hate for profit hashtag to call for the boycott of running ads on Facebook. They are calling for the social media platform to take a harder stance on allowing hate groups on the site as well as the spread of misinformation. Numerous celebrities and corporations joined the boycott during the month of July. Facebook eventually came out with a statement that they would be reevaluating their previous policies.
