People around the world connected through the hashtag #prayforparis to unite in prayer and hope during the tragedy. The movement was popularized via Instagram with a logo and hashtag but spread to other mainstream social media sites. Facebook and Twitter made French flag overlay filters for people to add to their profile pictures.
