    With World War Two in full swing on both the European fronts and Pacific fronts, Kuhn began working with the US government to find countermeasures for enemy radar. Eventually making his way to the UK working with the Royal Air Force.

    After the war was over Kuhn returned to school to further his education within the field of Physics.

    This was Kuhn's first book that was published and in it he discusses the idea that Copernicus' system is no different from the Ptolemaic system. (Kuhn, 1962).

    In Kuhn's book "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions" he discusses the different phases of the paradigm shift from things like normal science to incommensurability. He also discusses the consequences of such shifts.

    In 1964 Kuhn went to teach at Princeton as the M. Taylor Pyne Professor of Philosophy and History of Science and then again transferred to MIT in 1979 as the Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor of Philosophy. There he furthered his philosophies of paradigm shifts.

    Thomas Kuhn died in June of 1996 only a few years after completing his tenure at MIT. His cause of death was due to a two year battle with throat and lung cancer.
