Developmental Stages Final Project

  • Prenatal

My mom has told me that her pregnancy with me was fairly easy and she doesn't recall having many difficulties. She said she craved watermelon and corn on the cob, which I found interesting.

    Infant

When I was born I was 6lbs 8oz which is fairly normal for a newborn. As an infant my mom always describes me as being a pretty easy baby. I have two older sisters so she was pretty used to taking care of babies at that point. At this stage I was learning very basic things such as how to use my hands, hold my head up, sit up, and find my voice through making random sounds.
  • Period: to

    Toddler

During my toddler stage my mom describes me as being uncharacteristically calm and easygoing. My sister Ashley was a very tough toddler to deal with so when I came along they were prepared for a tough time but she says I looked forward to my naps and was eager to try new foods. I was always a tall kid and my parents were well-spoken so they always taught us kids to use correct grammar even starting at a young age

    Early Childhood

Early childhood is a period of rapid growth whether you're talking about physically, mentally, or socially. During this age I started school. I went to kindergarten in Tracy, CA and then moved to Modesto, CA for grades 1-12. I remember being a pretty outgoing kid, loving to play dodge ball at school and interact with other kids. I ran for school council in my elementary school, played clarinet, and was a member of the crossing guard.
  • Period: to

    Middle Childhood

Middle childhood goes up to about age 12 and that would encompass some of my middle school years. I remember being a good student, having lots of friends, and also having a good family life at home. I remember being one of the biggest kids in school, I remember having my first run-ins with bullies, and I remember going door-to-door in my neighborhood to sell things for a school fund raiser.
  • Period: to

    Adolescence

Adolescence is from ages 10-19 roughly and there were many milestones during those ages.
Physical: I grew to my current height of 6'2" and loved to play baseball.
Cognitive: I completed high school and got my diploma.
Social-emotional: During this stage I moved from California to Arizona and had to start over in terms of finding new friends and beginning my journey as an adult.
Language: I was always well-spoken and a proficient speller.
