American Revolution
The American Revolution begins with the Battles of Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts. After years of combat, Britain and the American Colonies sign the Treaty of Paris on September 3, 1783. The agreement brings an end to the war and officially recognizes the United States as an independent country. -

Declaration of Independence
Congress adopts the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Thomas Jefferson completes the draft of the Declaration of Independence in just 17 days. The historic document spells out the reasons why the American Colonies want to split from Britain, their mother country. -
U.S. Constitution
One September 17, 1787 the United States Constitution was signed.The US. constituion was a paper of ammendments paper with things on us about rules, and sometimes taking and sometimes rights. It has been in operation since 1789. -
Bill of Rights
The bill of rights was the first 10 ammendments. They guaranteed us mostly freedom of speech, press, and religion. Over time over 17 more ammendments were added. -
Ammendment 11
On February 7, 1795 Ammendmend 11 was ratified. It expanded the rights of judicial powers. The judicial powers was the branch of court that took care of people that did not follow laws. -
Ammendment 12
On June 15 1804 the 12th Ammendment was ratified. THis ammendment outlined the process where President and Vice president were elected. In this case the president chose someone to run along with him. -
Ammendment 17
One April 8 1913 the 17th Ammendment was ratified. This ammendment changed the process on how Senators were elected. Now senators were brought in by popular vote. -
Ammendment 19
On August 18th 1920 the 19th ammendment was ratified. This ended the discrimination of voting via sex. This gave women the right to vote. -
Ammendment 21
On December 5, 1933 the 21st ammendment was ratified. Earlier there was an ammentment 18 that prohibited sell and use off alcohol. This ammendment repealed that ammendment. -
Ammendment 26
One July 1st 1971 the 26 ammendment was ratified. This ammendment gave the youth the right to vote. This lowered the voting age to 18, because if you can serve you should be able to vote.
