    The United States Military was heading south to go secretly onto Cuba. Kennedy had the containment policy which ment that he wanted to keep communism to its boarders. This wasn't working because the Soviets invades Cuba, which is near th US. Also, the Soviet atomic bombs could reach the US easer now and be more destructive.
