The Corps of Discovery reach North Dakota
Back then It wasn't called North Dakota but that is where they were in october. They were nowhere near the Missouri's Headquarters, they didn't know the route beyond the Mandan Villages, and Winter was coming so they decided to build a fort by the Mandans and the Hidatsa tribes which were known for their friendliness and generosity. -
