  • 1950 - Isaac Asimov

    1950 - Isaac Asimov
    Isaac Asimov was a science fiction writer that inspired AI and came up with a theroy robots from turning on us in the future
  • 1953 - Alan Turing

    1953 - Alan Turing
    In Britain, mathematician Alan Turing and neurologist Grey Walter built the very first robots. The created the Ratio club and worked together to come up with other ideas for robots in the future.
  • 1956 - Marvin Minsky

    Marvin Minsky, pre-programming a computer with the rules that govern human behavior. Others belived that robots be exactly like humans, but Minsky's veiws were better and made more sense.
  • 1968 - HAL

    1968 - HAL
    Marvin Minsky influenced science fiction as well, advising Stanley Kubrick on the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, featuring an intelligent computer, HAL 9000.
  • 1969 - Shakey

    Shakey, the first general-purpose mobile robot able to make decisions about its own actions by reasoning about its surroundings. It built a spatial map of what it saw. But everytime it would move, itd have to updated its map and move again, mekig this painstakingly slow.
  • 1973 - AI winter

    By the early 1970s, AI was in trouble. Millions had been spent, with little to show for it. No one was finding it to be useful in any way.

    The AI winter came to an end when people started to relize the usefulnss of robots, this insured that the AI market would thrive.
  • 1990 - Elephants Don't Play Chess

    Sooner or later, the book Elephants dont play chess was published, saying that robots should be more like humans, and not just peices of random machinary.
  • 1997 - Deep Blue Vs Gary Kasparov

    In 1997, Deep blue rose it its own kind of fame when it beat world chess cahmpion Gary Karpoaov in rounds of chess, creating a gateway for AI to thrive.
  • 2002 - Roomba

    Rodney Brook's company, iRobot, created a useful little robot named the Roomba, though it was a far cry from what anyone wanted, it had its usefulness cleaning the carpetas of those who could afford it.
  • 2005 - Big Dog and the Packbots

    Later, as AI proved its usefulness, the military found a use for AI, thus created the Packbots and Big Dog, a canine-like robot that delivered supplies to the soilders in need. Packbots as well.
  • 2008 - Speech Recognition

    Google was one of the first to come up with speech recognition. To make AI capable of taking human commands to mind. This was an amazing feat for AI.

    • Automated cars, AI would be so technologically improved it could run a car all on its own.

    • Cyborg Technology, later in the future, AI could assist people with surgically removed limbs or otherwise.

    • Taking over dangerous jobs, as pleasing as it sounds, this could actually prove as a danger to humans themselves
