  • Rebel Without a Cause

    When troublesome teen, Jim, moves into a new town to get into a new state of mind, it causes all sort of issues with other townsfolk. Jim does make friends and eventually falls for a girl named Judy who is actually the girlfriend of neighbourhood tough, Buzz. When Buzz finds out about this, he rages and challenges Jim in a drag race. This drama/teen film mainly attracts the younger audience as it's about young love during school.
  • The Graduate

    Benjamin Braddock has just finished high school and is always getting asked the same question by his family, 'What are you going to do with your life?' An unexpected issue comes up when he is seduced by Mrs Robinson, a bored housewife. This fun tryst has a twist goes downhill when Benjamin falls for Mrs Robinson's daughter, Elaine, who is the one person he was told to stay away from.
  • The Breakfast Club

    Directed by John Hughes, this drama/comedy film is about five high school students are stuck in a Saturday detention, leaving them bored and unenthusiastic. They end up sharing things with each other that nobody knows about, making the others see them in a different way. The target audience for this film would be the younger generation as they can easily relate to this more than older people.
  • Pretty in Pink

    This drama/comedy brings the story of a girl named Andie who either hangs out with her older boss or her classmate, Duckie, who has a crush on her. Before Andie knows it, she gets asked out by popular schoolboy, Blane, it almost seems too good to be true. However, when Andie starts falling for Blane, she realises that dating someone from a completely different social group is not so easy. This film will also attract the younger audience as it's all about dating in high school.
  • Ferris Bueller's Day Off

    This drama/teen film directed by John Hughes brings the story of a high school student, Ferris Bueller, constantly making up excuses to skip classes and school in general. On one of those days, he goes off to 'borrow' a Ferrari to have a drive around Chicago. However, the principal, Rooney, is out to catch him and put an end to all of this skiving. Having watched this film myself, I think it's one to watch as it has an interesting storyline to it and a few humorous moments.
  • Clueless

    Director Amy Hekerling brings this teen romance about a spoilt, rich schoolgirl, Cher, who sees herself as the school's matchmaker. Due to her success in many matches, she gives new girl, Tai, a make over. However, when Tai becomes more popular than Cher, Cher has instant regrets on changing Tai's look. This film is mainly targeted to the younger audience as they can relate to the film better than the older generation, but personally, I believe it is a film for all ages.
  • Superbad

    Partying becomes more popular later on in the high school life and two particular students, Seth and Evan, want to be apart of them. By attending these parties, they hope to win over the girls and become part of the in-crowd but with two bored police officers in their way, will they achieve their goal of becoming popular? Directored by Greg Mottola, this comedy is targeted towards the younger audience due to the partying and characters in the film.
  • Juno

    When young teen, Juno, becomes pregnant, she chooses a failed rockstar and wife to adopt her baby. However, some issues occur when expected father, Mark, thinks more of Juno than just the mother of his future child - causing multiple problems for his marriage. Directed by Jason Reinman, this drama/romance film is one for the younger audience as it raises the issues of young pregnancies during the school period and what circumstances it can have on you short and long term.
  • An Education

    Directed by Lone Scherfig,this drama/romance film brings you the story of a young, smart, pretty girl named Jenny. She has big aspirations of going to Oxford university but when she meets a man double her age, things start going downhill. When she falls in love with this man, David, she sees the true side of him by the way he makes his money and how he acts in general. This can appeal to all age groups as many people may have experienced bad relationships so they can relate to the storyline.
  • Boyhood

    Filmed with the same cast over a 12 year period, this film captures the joys of growing up through the eye of a child named Mason. It includes the most common family activities such as family meals and road trips. It also includes the more important, personal parts of life like graduations. Directed by Richard Linklater, this fantasy/drama is for all age groups as everyone of all ages can relate to the situations that go on within this film.
