Truman Doctrine and Marshall plan
Greece, Turkey, Western Europe, and the U.S. were involved. TD is a plan to send $400M in the military to help Greece and Turkey from Communism. The MP is a plan to give $12B to rebuild Western Europe from WWII. It took place in Europe in 3, 1947. It was important since it prevented Communism to spread. TD and MP impacted society in Europe because it didn't make their government Communist. Everyone's property would be publicly owned and, on paper, everybody would live in the middle class. -
Korean War
This was a war that was between North and South Korea, the Soviet Union, and The United States. This was a war that was caused by an invasion of south Korea and would result in many battles of over taking each others land to be pushed back which would result in the 38th parallel. Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins piloted Apollo 11. The U.S. was able to go to the Moon before the Soviet Union. Armstrong was the first to step on the Moon while 600 million were watching on T.V. The event took place on the Moon and the Pacific Ocean in July 20th 1969. We wanted to plant an American flag and gather moon samples to study. It impacted society since it was the first time the U.S. landed on the Moon.
