Marshall, it was estimated to last four years. This also showed that by being not communist is paying off to the free European countries.

    The Berlin airlift was the allies was to avoid the soviet road blocks. The road blocks have been cutting off the allies from being able to get supplies into Berlin. At first the air lift was not very good but over time the allies had it down to a science. Towards the end they were having planes land every 7-10 minutes which brought in the food needed to sub stain the people.

    The Korean war was a war between north Korea and south Korea but each side was backed by a superpower. The north Koreans was back by the USSR while the south Koreans were backed by the USA. This war began when north Korea invaded the south and pushed them all the way back. Due to the attack NATO sent a force of men to help the south Koreans. The force was mostly made up of Americans and they pushed them all the way back to the Korea Chinese boarder but they ended up at the 38th parallel again.

    During his time in power he tried to make the people in the USSR happier. This meant undoing a lot of policies that Stalin put in, this time is call de-Stalinisation. During his time of power the first satellite was launch and there were a lot of revolutions put down. One of these include the Hungarian uprising which was crushed very fast by the soviet union. Towards the end of his time he was forced to retired due to pressure put on him by opposing parties.

One of these revolutions started in late October when the people of Hungary didn't want to be under the thumb of communism. The revolt was a quick one but in the short amount of time they were able to over turn the whole government. They took their flags and cut out the communist symbol in the middle. However after aliitle bit of time the soviets invaded again and took Hungary back and NATO did nothing to stop it.

This brought up a lot of concern on both sides, the soviets didn't like the fact that the Americans where flying in their air space and the Americans were concerned the soviets would hold the pilot as a hostage and or they might start a war. The pilot was used by the soviets to get one of their spies back in a prisoner exchange.

In the end of it all the missiles in Cuba were recalled and the missiles in turkey were recalled as well.
