    The Berlin Airlift was the American response to the USSR closing off roadways into Berlin, Germany. The USSR wanted to get the French, British, and Americans out of Berlin. They eventually freed the roadways and let the French, British, and Americans into Berlin.

    A fight between the nationalistic Chiang Kai-shek and the communistic Mao Zedong. At first Kai-shek was the winning party but then the Russians joined in. In the end, China became communist.

    Over 70,000 North Koreans crossed the 38th Parallel. This caused the Americans to go to Korea to keep the South Koreans safe and attempt to convert North Koreans to capitalism. In the end, South Korea was saved but North Koreans were still communists.

    Starting in 1954, the Vietnam War wasn't really a war as it was a social conflict. Ho Ch Minh was a communist and was trying to bring Vietnam to the side of communism when the US intervened. However, Vietnam won by using guerrilla tactics and the US pulled out letting Vietnam become communist.

    The Space Race was a race between the US and the USSR for who would reach the moon first. The Soviets were the first into space with the Sputnik satellite. But in the end the Americans reach the moon first and Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon.

    After President Fulgencio Batista of Cuba was overthrown by Fidel Castro in 1959, the CIA made a plan to invade Cuba. In 1961 the invasion began an invasion that only lasted 24 hours. The winners of this conflict was Cuba as the outnumbered the Americans.

    Berlin Wall
    Erected in 1961, the Berlin Wall was a divide between East and West Berlin. The Russians built the wall to prevent residents of East Berlin to cross to the democratic West Berlin. In the end, the wall was tor down in 1991.

    This was a conflict between Americans and the Cubans and Russians. The Soviets put missiles of the beaches of Cuba and American was worried that they would be fired so President John F Kennedy held a meeting with Fidel Castro and Nikita Khrushchev. In the end, the Soviets took the missiles off of Cuba
