The Russians revolted and started communism. This pulled Russia out of the war and began the spread of communism. -

The invention of the atom bomb helped to end the war and led to events in the cold war such as the Non-Proliferation treaty. -

The iron curtain seald Russia off from the west/Europe and contributed to the Red Scare in the US. -

The people in seperated germany were getting supply drops. This kept them alive and prevented Russia from completely taking over Germany and directly led to the building of the Berlin Wall -
NATO
NATO brought the anti-communist countries together.It also weakened the Soviets. -
Korean War
The Korean War was to contain communism and prevent the spread of communism. -
The Vietnam War
The Vietnam war was similar to the Korean War in that the U.S. was trying to prevent the spread of communism to the rest of the world. -
Warsaw Pact
The Soviets' response to NATO. It was the opposing force of NATO in the cold war. -
Sputnik I landed on the moon.
This instigated the space race between the U.S. and Russia. -

The first man to be in space, Also it provokes the U.S. to try to get to the moon. -

This marked the beginning of Germany's division into four sectors, with nobody able to cross any of the sectors. -
