  • Che Guevara Birth and Parents

    Che Guevara Birth and Parents
    Ernesto Guevara de la Serna (also known as Che Guevara) was born on June 14, 1928. His parents were Ernesto Guevara Lynch who was born in 1900 and Celia de la Serna y Llosa who was born in 1906. They lived in Rosario, Argentina which is about 175 miles northwest of Buenos Aires.

    Childhood and Graduation

    He was a sickly child with asthma but he still was an incredible athlete. He was also very smart he graduated from high school with high honors. He became very involved with the politics and he mostly hated the way they were in South America. He went to college and got his degree to be a medicine doctor in 1953.

    In late 1953 he dropped medicine while his interest in marxism grew into its place. He traveled with his friend to Guatemala when he arrived there he saw CIA people overthrowing the government. This only served as an event that made him even more deeply hate the government.

    Fidel and Raul Catsro
    Che got married to Hilda Gadea in 1955 at Tepotzotlan. He went to see Fidel Castro and his brother Raul in Mexico. Fidel and Raul were planning to destroy Batista’s government and Che was going to help them.

    Batista and Responsibility

    In December of 1956 Batista's government came and destroyed lots of things and people. Although deadly Che survived the attack. Then, Che got a lot more responsibility from Fidel over the next 3-4 years.
  • La Cabana

    La Cabana
    Fidel Castro took over control of Cuba from Fulgencio Batista in January of 1959. Guevara got put in a job as watcher of La Cabana prison. He executed 300-400 people in his few years there. He was a major support in turning Cuba into a communist land.

    Bay of Pigs and Cuban Missile Crisis

    Che did quite a bit in Cuba in the early 60s. He was a big part of the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He also delivered a speech on the Missile Crisis.
  • Congo

    Congo
    Cuba was in a devastating manner in 1965 so Che left for other parts of the world. He traveled to a place known as Congo to train troops to fight in a revolution there. He later failed and by the end of 1965 he went back to Cuba.
  • Bolivia Revolution

    Bolivia Revolution
    Che would stay in Cuba for a little but ultimately he would leave by 1966. He went to start a revolution in Bolivia. He fought an overwhelming revolutionary battle.
  • Death

    Death
    They would make some progress but in the end bad things would happen. He was captured by the Bolivian Army. He later died on October 9, 1967 from execution. He was shot in his neck, arm, leg and chest.
