Exposition: Introduction of Wilber
Wilber is the runt of the litter, but Fern likes him, so she saves his life. The Zuckermans think Wilber is a nice little pig and adopt him. Wilber's life is going fairly well. -
Rising Action: Can You Smell the Bacon?
Wilber learns that he will likely be turned into bacon. Naturally, he is very upset about this and searches for a way to live. This is where Charlotte comes to his rescue with a plan. -
Climax: Wilber is a Winner!
Charlottes plan has worked and Wilber is saved! He has used his tricks to become an exceptional pig, and win a prize at the county fair. -
Falling Action: Sickness at the County Fair
Charlotte becomes sick and creates her final masterpiece. This includes a beautifully woven web with an egg sack. Charlotte knows that she will not live to see the eggs hatch, so she nominates Wilber to take care of them for her. -
Resolution: The Bittersweet Beginning
Charlotte's life comes to an end; leaving behind the sack of eggs. The eggs hatch and befriend Wilber immediately. Wilber is now able to have friends for the rest of his life. He is, once again, one happy pig.
